Doris A. Hoover's Obituary
Doris Arlene Hoover, age 81 of Centerville, Iowa died March 14, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Doris was born August 2, 1926, the daughter of Archie F. and Opal F. (Irvin) Martin in Centerville, Iowa. She married Neal E. Hoover in Centerville on October 18, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1995. Doris was a homemaker and lived in the Centerville area her whole life. She attended Lincoln rural and Centerville High Schools. Doris was a lifelong member of Drake Avenue Christian Church, where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship. Doris served as a Deaconess.
Doris is survived by her son Bruce ( DeAnn) Hoover of Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren, Alex (Joy) Hoover of Topeka, Kansas, Melissa Kippley of Olathe, Kansas, and Amy Kippley of Lenexa, Kansas; two great grandchildren, James Adams and Michael Taisipic both of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters, Betty (Bernard) Wells of Menlo, Iowa, and Beverly (Robert) Wells of Centerville, Iowa; and a brother, Archie ""Bud"" (Judy) Martin of Centerville, Iowa. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Neal; her parents; a sister Blanche Hogg; and a brother-in-law Carl ""Red"" Hogg.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm, Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Reverend Carl Heien and Pastor Nancy Prall officiating. A luncheon will be held prior to the service at 12:30 pm at the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville. A visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial has been established to the Drake Avenue Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
