Doris Estlack's Obituary
Doris Frances (Lewman, Morrison) Estlack of Unionville, Iowa was called home to the Lord on October 23rd, 2023 at the age of 97 in Centerville Specialty Care.
She was born to Van and Grace (McGee) Lewman on July 29th, 1926 near Centerville, Iowa, with the family moving to Unionville in her childhood. Doris and her siblings received their education at the Unionville school. Doris met Earl in Unionville, and once he came back on leave from the war, they married in 1944. To this union they were blessed with four children. Sadly, after 40 happy years, their time together was cut short by his sudden passing in 1985.
She was an avid member of the Methodist church, which is where she met her second husband, Eldred. They loved to travel together in their golden years, visiting places such as the Grand Canyon. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren - from baking chocolate pies for Christmas, to watching the Price is Right on weekend mornings, to reenacting Little House on the Prairie (complete with bonnets). "Granny" Doris was a wonderful, thoughtful and caring grandmother and shall be missed very much.
Left to cherish Doris's memory are her children, Jim (Karen) Morrison, Pam (Steve) Probasco, Candy Myers, and Tim (Joan) Morrison; her grandchildren, Merredith (Jason) Grizzle, Gianna (Dorsey) Ramsey, Ty (Tara) Morrison, Whitney Walker, Krystal Mosimann, Wendy (Scott) Clark, Misty (Chris) O'Hair, Amanda (Brian) Davis, Jeremy (Lisa) Morrison, Jaylon Morrison, Landon Morrison, Alyssa Felton Patterson, and Zach Morrison; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Van; her sisters, Sarah Jane and Catherine; her brothers, Jimmy and Robert; her first husband of 40 years, Earl Morrison, and her second husband of 21 years, Eldred Estlack.
Funeral services for Doris will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Larry Bettis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will take place Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville from 1:00-2:00PM.
