Doretta Mae Glascock, age 56, was taken from her beloved family and friends on July 12, 2009 at her home in rural Cincinnati, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Charles and Neoma (Richmond) Lawson on July 2, 1953 in Centerville, Iowa. She attended Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa.She has been employed by Curwood in Centerville, Iowa as a bag machine operator. Doretta also spent several years employed by the Centerville Community School District as a local Bus Driver. She attended the Christian Church in Cincinnati, Iowa.Doretta was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Michael Brown on July 2, 1989; a special grandfather, Noah Richmond; a younger sister, Shelby Lawson; and a brother, Micheal Lawson.She is survived by: her step-son, Jackie Paul Glascock, Jr. of Cincinnati, Iowa; a sister, Shirley and her husband, Bob Thompson of St. Paul, Nebraska; brothers, Dean and his wife Dee Lawson, Ted and his wife, Patty Lawson and Dennis and his wife, Vicky Lawson all of Cincinnati, Iowa; also a host of nieces and nephews that will miss having good times with their special Aunt Doretta.Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 10 Am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Eric Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 2 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home.A memorial fund has been established in her name and will be designated at a later date and can be left at the funeral home.
