Dora Phelps' Obituary
Dora Phelps, age 91, of Centerville died Thursday November 25, 2004 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She was born May 29, 1913 at Darbyville in Walnut TWP. the daughter of Noah N. McDanel and Basha Ellen (Hobart) McDanel. She lived in Illinois from 1936 until 1981 when she moved to Centerville. She worked for the First Bank of Waukegan. She was a member of the Drake Ave. Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Intiated into Eastern Star October 13, 1954 in Moline Chapter # 258. She was a Past Worth Matron of the OES in Chapter # 209 in 1969 in Waukegan, IL. She transferred her membership to Irene Chapter #414 in Mystic, Iowa in 1982 where she held stations of Ruth and others. She became 50 year member in 2004.
She is survived by a son David W. Phelps and his wife Beckie of Wolcottville, Indiana; two grandsons Mark and John Phelps of Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 great grandchildren Caleb, Brandon, Chase; sisters Fern Coster of Oklahoma, Isal Harper of Ft. Bragg, CA, a brother Ed McDanel of Pensocola, FL.
Funeral services will be held Monday 2 PM, November 29, 2004 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Carl Heien officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hanes Cemetery. A memorial has been established and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544
