Donnie Self's Obituary
Donnie Self, age 57 of Moravia died Thursday evening , February 9, 2006 at the Monroe County Hospital, Albia.
He was born July 8, 1948 the son of Donnie and Carol (Rogers) Self. He graduated from Moravia High School in 1966. He worked for Van Dorin Implement during high school before working for John Deere. Don retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works after 3o years. After retirement he worked for Erna Matthews on his farm. He was married to Judy Moore in 1973. He enjoyed hunting, gambling and especialyy his grandkids.
He is survived by two children Don Self and his wife Shannon of Moravia and Teresa J. Cochran of Moravia; 5 grandchildren Dylan Cochran, Nicole Self, Jessica Self, Danny Moore and Derek Stevens; a sister Linda (John ) Houser of Moravia, brothers Ronald (Patty) Self of Unionville, IA, Bobby (Janiece) Self of Moravia, 12 nieces and nephews Stacy Sandberg, Reggie DeVore, Kristi Cosgrove, Kevin Self, Shawn Houser, Marla Houser, Derek Houser, Tava hoffman, Kelly Morrow, Emily DeJong, Randy Penfield, Misti Jensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Kathy Penfield and an infant nephew Bobby Penfield.
Friends may call Sunday, February 12, 2006 from 1 PM until 8 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville. The family will be present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Following cremation a family graveside service will be held.
