Donna June Spencer's Obituary
Donna June Spencer, age 86, of Moravia, Iowa passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at her home.
Donna was born July 17, 1935 in rural Davis County Iowa to Esta and Irene Roberts West. She graduated from Udell High School in 1952 as valedictorian of her class. On October 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to Paul Spencer, Jr. in Unionville Iowa. To this union four children were born: Robin, Jim, Susan and David.
From 1965-1978 Donna served as secretary of the Moravia school board. She then began her nursing career at Saint Josephs Hospital in Centerville, retiring as an RN in 1995.
Donna was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed spending time on her computer and learning how it worked. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Robin Spencer, Jim Spencer (Mary Russell), Susan Spencer, all of Moravia IA, and David Spencer of Austin TX; grandchildren Jamie (Justin) Anderson, Josh Spencer, Jessi Nicoletto (Ryan Moore), and Paul Pepper; great grandchildren Tyler and Karli Knapp, and Cameron and Madison Nicoletto; a brother, Norman West; as well as several extended family members.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Per Donnas wishes, cremation has been accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date.
