Donna Huston's Obituary
Donna Jean Huston, 90, passed away November 12, 2016. She was born to Lloyd and Gladys (Wilson) Garver on August 18, 1926 in Clearfield, Iowa. Donna graduated from Corydon High School in 1943 and Drake University in 1947. Donna was united in marriage to Edward (E.N.) Huston on July 26, 1958 at the First Christian Church in Corydon. Donna worked as a social worker for 40 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church, Southern Hills Christian Church, Beta Sigma Phi, American Legion auxiliary and Iowa Rural Letter Carrier auxiliary. She enjoyed baking; she always had a hot pot of coffee going along with cinnamon rolls, cookies or bread in the oven. Ed and Donna were devoted Christians and set a fine example of Christian faithfulness, devotion to God and family, leadership, commitment, a strong work ethic and love for each other. Ed and Donna are survived by daughter, Jane Collier (Chuck) of Edmond, OK, grandchildren; Lindsey Dietz (Eric), Edmond OK and Lauren Young (Ryan) of Oklahoma City, OK, and one great grandchild, Emilia Dietz. They were preceded in death by an infant daughter, parents Fred and Fra Huston and Lloyd and Gladys Garver, son James Burger, brother, Jerry Huston , sister, Marian Havens, and brother-in-law James Havens. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will be held at Corydon Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Prairie Trails Museum, Corydon First Christian Church or Corydon & Allerton American Legion. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
