Donna Dudley's Obituary
Donna Joan Dudley, 87, of Chandler, Arizona passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Four Roses Assisted Living in Chandler, Arizona. Donna was born on May 2, 1932 in rural Mystic, Iowa. She was the oldest child of Lewis and Edith (Lain) Beaty. After graduating Centerville High School, Donna married Donald M. Dudley on June 10, 1950 in Exline, Iowa. To this union, five children were born. Donald and Donna farmed in Appanoose county until 1965, when they moved to the Quad Cities. After Donald retired, they returned to Centerville. In 2010, Donna decided to move to Chandler, Arizona to enjoy the warm climate and to be near some of her children and grandchildren. Donna's greatest joy was ALL of her family. She loved long car rides, going out to eat and playing cards. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Donna is survived by three daughters: Carol Herman (John) of Hebron, Illinois, Charlene Huckins (Clayton) of Moorcroft, Wyoming and Carla Wilson (Craig) of Chandler, Arizona; two sons: Kenneth Dudley (Dee) of Bettendorf, Iowa and Merlin Dudley (JoEllen) of Apache Junction, Arizona; three sisters: Joyce Phillips (Howard) of Mystic, Iowa, Janice Gardner (Butch) of Urbandale, Iowa and Rita Martin (Kenny) of Moravia, Iowa; sister-in-law, Donna Beaty of Mystic, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Carrie, Mollie, Jennifer, Christopher, Michele, Michael, Brandy and Derrick and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2002, brothers: Dale Beaty in 1958 and Jimmie Beaty in 2018 and her son-in-law, Herb Cotton in 1980. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Exline Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 1-7 p.m. with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
