Donna J. Carpenter's Obituary
Donna Jean Carpenter, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, and a former Plano area resident, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Joseph E. and Ruby L. (Robison) Frame on December 29, 1921 near Confidence, Iowa. She graduated from the Corydon High School in 1939, and later graduated from AIB Business College in Des Moines, Iowa in 1942.On January 8, 1943, Donna was united in marriage to Charles 'Ed' Carpenter in Princeton, Missouri. She worked for a few years at the Corydon State Bank in Corydon as a bookkeeper, and would later become a full time mom and helped out on the farm. She was a member of the Plano Christian Church, Sarah Circle, Plano Wednesday Club, Lifetime member of the Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary and the 18-80 Club of Centerville. Donna was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Charles 'Ed' Carpenter on March 18, 1999; a sister, Doris Ewing; and a great granddaughter, Sophia Jean Pardekooper.She leaves to mourn her passing: her sons, Charles Edward Carpenter and his wife, Linda of Corydon, Iowa, Donald Lyle Carpenter and his wife, Cindy of The Villages, Florida, and Dennis Dwaine Carpenter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Lowell Frame and wife Merilynn of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Clint, Andy, Brian, Jeremy, Josh, Holly Carpenter, Lee Ann Osier, Stephanie Iverson and Christina Crane; great grandchildren, Lauren Davis, Jordan Osier, Keaton and Trent Carpenter, Savanna and Gabe Pardekooper, Henry, Mia, Bodhi, Austin, Elisha, Manuel, Noah Carpenter and Emma Crane; and great great grandson, Ryder CollisFuneral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Michael McKissik officiating. Burial will follow in the Confidence Cemetery in Confidence, Iowa. Visitation will be open on Thursday from 2 pm until 6 pm and the family will be present from 9 am until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to the Plano Christian Church and left or mailed to the funeral home.
