Donna Lee Ballas' Obituary
Donna Lee Ballas, 83 of Des Moines, Iowa passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Donna was born July 5, 1941 in Genoa, IA to Maurice and Hazel (Hickerson) Parker. She graduated from Maxwell High School with the class of 1961. She brought two daughters into the world: Melissa and Michele.
She loved spending her free time going to garage sales, thrifting and spending time with all of her grandkids and her best friend Effie. Donna and Effie were always together causing trouble, laughing, and smiling every chance they got.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Melissa Mitchell (Danny Stewart), Michele Lehman (Brian); grandchildren, Melinda Stump (Chip Hays), Zachery Stump, Lauren Lehman, Cody Lehman (Kylee); siblings, Doris La Paglia, Howard Parker (Joyce), Charles Parker (Joanne) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; grand-daughter, Michaela Stump; in-laws, P.J. La Paglia, Willie Woodruff and Jerry Stoneking; siblings, Lucille Woodruff and Pat Stoneking.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will follow at the Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24th, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Memorials in honor of Donna may be made to the family of Donna Ballas and mailed to Thomas Funeral Home 303 E.
