Donald Wayne Williams Sr.'s Obituary
Donald Wayne Williams Sr., age 90, of Newton, formerly of Centerville, passed away July 15, 2021.
Don was born to Lee Loraine and Iva Pearl (Hayes) Williams on February 25, 1931 in Centerville, Iowa. Don grew up in Centerville, where he met and married Twillia (Hedgecock) Williams on August 19, 1950 at the Centerville Church of the Nazarene.
The couple left Centerville in 1951, where he attended and graduated from Bethany Nazarene Bible College in Oklahoma to fulfill Gods call to the ministry. They returned to Iowa to minister on the Iowa Nazarene District for 45 years in Mystic, Leon, Oelwein, Atlantic, Lacona, Cedar Rapids Trinity and later a Baptist Church in Livonia, Missouri.
Left to honor Dons memory are his siblings, Cheryl Walter, Richard (Judy) Williams, Karen (Mick) Kauzlarich, Gary (Judy) Williams, Jimmy (Mary) Williams and Mary Lou Sexton; his children, Don (Becky) Williams, Donna (Danny) Dannels, Carrie (John) Wehrli, and Lydia (Robert) Buck; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Twillia; their infant son, Paul David; his parents, Lee Loraine and Iva Pearl Williams; and his siblings, Dorothy Schwager, Darlene Votaw, Charles Williams, Ronald Williams, and Margie Cadam.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Warren Lukens officiating. Burial will follow in the Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A visitation will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family receiving friends from 9-11 AM. A memorial has been established to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
