Donald Wayne Shriver's Obituary
Donald Wayne Shriver, age 72, passed away at the Shenandoah Medical Center on March 16, 2023.
Don was born to George and Helen (Martin) Shriver on May 20, 1950 in Farmington, Iowa. He was then later joined by his brother Tony. He was raised in Garden Grove, Iowa. His family then moved to Lamoni, IA in 1966. He graduated from Lamoni High School with the class of 1970, where he was crowned homecoming king. Don then went on to attend college at Graceland University and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Don worked for Hy-Vee for 18 years then moved on to work 12 years for Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Don enjoyed life and everything it had to offer. He found pleasure in many different sports. He could often be found out on the Shenandoah and Sydney golf courses where he was a member with friends having a great time. He loved watching golf, the Yankees and the New York Giants on television. Don also enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair often to just walk around to see all the new things it had to offer. When he wasn't taking part in outdoor activities, he enjoyed reading and would go to the movie theater to see a new film. He also found interest in researching interesting facts and things about the Civil War.
Don was a very loving brother to Tony. They would often take vacations together and traveled many places. Don was a very easy goingand loving person who didn't know a stranger and would often make donations to several organizations throughout the years.
Left to honor Don's memory is his brother, Tony Shriver (Margery Davison) and numerous extended family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Perry Fielder.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Iowa.
