Donald Ray Ross' Obituary
Donald Ray Ross, age 67, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Don was born on May 30, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Jack Ross and Mary Couch. On November 22, 2007, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jo (Vorhies) Kauzlarich.
In his early years, Don enjoyed working on the railroad. Throughout his life, Don held various jobs. Don retired as a truck driver, delivering for PDI.
In his free time, he enjoyed doing yard work, being with his wife at their cabin at Crane Lake, spoiling his dogs and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Left to honor Don's memory are his wife, Nancy Ross; his mother, Mary Hill; his children, Jon (Amanda) Kauzlarich, Katie (Jason) Shipman, and Jessie (Lucas) Mihalovich; his grandchildren, Nick (Emily), Ayden (Chloe), Joe, Jack, Sophie, Tatum, Aubree, Linken and Matthew; his siblings, Chuck (Myra) Sheets, Robert (Ginny) Ross, and Julie Spencer; as well as several extended family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ross; his step-father, Arnie Hill; and his brother, Kenneth Couch.
Funeral services for Don will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Cremation will follow the service, and burial at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville will be held at a later date. Visitation will take place Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville beginning at 12:00PM, with the family greeting friends from 1:00PM-2:00PM.
