Truly was an amazing man! Had a heart of gold, hard dedicated worker of the land, provided wonderfully for his family and always made sure his great niece (me) would always get a hug... whether I wanted it or not! Lol! Donald was a wonderful story teller. He said he was about 4 1/2 when they left Montana to come to Iowa. He doesn't remember much about his time there but remembered a 4th of July where they went down by a river to watch fireworks. He said that was the 1st time that he remembers seeing a tree (because there were none in Montanta it seemed!). He says he remembered them being HUGE! He says in retrospect, they could have been small 8in diameter trees but to him they were huge and wonderful. My dear Uncle Donald, I loved being your audience.

Donald was such a nice man with an extraordinary heart and loved to joke and tease people. Donald asked for pickles one day so I gave him pickle slices. He commented the pickles were small, so I told him at one time they were whole sized. We laughed about that off and on throughout the day. Prayers for his family and friends during this difficult time. I truly feel honored to have known Donald and will miss him. Gina Malone
