Donald Francis McCloud's Obituary
Donald Francis McCloud, age 91 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 09, 2014 at the Continental Care Center At Seymour, Iowa.
He was born May 26, 1922 on the family farm northwest of Moravia, Iowa, the son of Ray and Hattie (Main) McCloud. Donald graduated from Moravia High School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Wanetah Robb on April 24, 1948 in Centerville, Iowa.
Donald worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia, Iowa for twenty five years, retiring in 1984. He also spent his entire life farming the family farm near Moravia, Iowa.
Donald loved spending time with family and friends and was always there to help out a neighbor. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa. Donald and Wanetah were both members of the neighborhood Sew and So Club.
He is survived by his son, Gary (Antoinette) McCloud of Pembroke, Georgia; special friend and caretaker, Sharron (Greg) McKee of Moravia, Iowa; two grandchildren, David McCloud of Albia, Iowa and Angela Davidson of Ottumwa, Iowa; and four great-grandchildren, Jason Davidson, Addison Davidson, Chase Smith and Carter McCloud.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanetah; and two sisters, Helen Homerine and Mildred Phyllis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa with Reverend Cindy Finn officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Friday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville from 6-8 PM. Memorials have been established to the Grace United Methodist Church and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
