Donald Wayne Large's Obituary
Donald Wayne Large, age 70 of Marshalltown, formerly of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Donald was born November 24, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Robert James and Velma (Stevens) Large. He graduated from Centerville High School. He served his country faithfully during Vietnam. He served during war time from June 18, 1968-June 11, 1970. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on August 30, 1976.
Donald held various occupations in Centerville and later, Davenport, Iowa.
He is survived by three children; several step-children; sister, Carol (John) Eddy of Centerville; a brother, Bob Large of Centerville; and close friend, Arlene Kremer of Melbourne, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Moorman; and a brother, Jerry Large.
Funeral services with military rites will be held 1 PM, Friday, December 19, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. A visitation will be held on Friday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, with the family greeting friends from 11 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
