Donald Crow's Obituary
Donald D. Crow, 72 of Centerville passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Mercy One - Centerville. Don was born on July 2, 1948 in Centerville. He received his education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1966. Don attended college for a time at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. On June 18, 1966, Don was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Parsons. To this union came two sons: Chris and Jason. Don enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandsons; teasing C.J. and Dalton was priority whenever they were around. He was a car enthusiast and loved watching Formula One and NASCAR races. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia Flyers. Don's favorite sport was baseball. He loved to watch baseball in the summer, and also enjoyed attending the Iowa Cubs games in Des Moines. There was no team that topped his Dodgers. Don was a loyal fan, always sporting his Dodger hat. He enjoyed music of all kinds; from Rolling Stones to Waylon Jennings to the Three Tenors. Don enjoyed trivia and was always the team ringer. Centerville was home for Don and he was proud to say so. Don was grateful for "Gator", the kidney he received on July 4, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Crow, sons: Chris Crow (Amy), Jason Crow (Cindy), grandsons: C.J. Crow (Royal), Dalton Crow, sisters: Kathy Doll, Peggy Van Pelt (Pete) and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Melbourne & Ruth Worley and Carl Crow Jr. A private family funeral will take place Friday, February 12, 2021. Visitation for the public will be Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. without family present.
