Dolores M. Foster, age 95 of Centerville, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville. Dolores was born June 15, 1917 to (Thomas) Britt and Cora (Johnson) Oden on the Read Obituary
I was in Mrs. Foster's 2nd grade class '69-'70 at Central Ward Elementary. She discovered that I had a significant hearing loss which made learning difficult for me. After getting tubes in my ears and moved to the front of the room I was able to get caught up with the rest of the class. The family of Dolores, So sorry for your loss. Dolores was one of a kind, a very caring and sharing person. Although I haven't seen her for along time she has a special place in my heart through my grandmother that taught with her and my parents through the Masons and Eastern Star. I'm sure there are lots of memories you all have. Cherish those and know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Miss seeing all of you once in a while. Take care. SHE WAS THE KINDEST TEACHER I HAD WHILE IN SCHOOL. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY MY DRESS FOR 8 GRADE GRADUATION AND SO SHE LET ME LIVE WITH AND HER HUSBAND TO HELP SPRING CLEANING FOR A MONTH AND THEN SHE BOUGHT MY DRESS AND EVERY THING I NEEDED FOR MY BIG NIGHT. i WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER.
