Diane Oden's Obituary
Diane Oden, age 58, of Exline, Iowa died Tuesday November 18, 2003 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born March 11, 1945 the daughter of Jack Wood and Norma Jean Harvey Wood in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Saydel High School where she was Homecoming Queen in 1963. She graduated from Indian Hills School of Nursing. he was married to Richard Oden on July 31, 1965 at Unionville, MO and He survives. She was a LPN and worked at the VA hospital in Knoxville, Mercy Medical Center, Centerville and several of the Centerville Nursing Homes, she loved working with geriatrics. She enjoyed reading and her grandchildren, always concerned about everyone else, you never saw her without a smile.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Exline, three children Brent Oden and His wife Julie of Cincinnati, Bryan Oden and his wife Laurie of Cincinnati, Becky Maxwell and her husband Grant of Centerville, 10 grandchildren Meghan, Macey, Madison, Mallory, McCain, Bryer, Josie, Carley, Dugan, and Tori; her mother Mrs. Norma Jean Jean Wood of Des Moines, a sister Patty Wood of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack and her sister Linda Shelley.
A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 6 PM Friday evening at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Miller officiating. A Celebration of Life (sharing Diane's life) will be held from 7-8 PM at Marian Hall (Church Basement). Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Leukemia & Lyphoma Society or St. Mary's Catholic Church or Diane's Grandchildren Education Fund and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
