Derrald D. Bauer's Obituary
Derrald D. Bauer, age 72, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, January 13, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of the late Russell Dilman Bauer and the late Golda Blanche (Vulgamott) Bauer on August 3, 1932 in Webster City, Iowa. In 1952, he graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa.On March 22, 1953, Derrald was united in marriage to Sally Burgin in Webster City, Iowa. Derrald farmed southwest of Numa, Iowa since moving here in 1967, until he retired in 2002. He served on the A.S.C.S. Committee and FHA Committee. He was also a Honorary and Master Pork Producer in the state of Iowa. He was a deacon at the Seymour Christian Church and also a member of Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.Derrald was preceded in death by: his parents and a brother Richard Bauer.He is survived by: his wife Sally; sons Kevin and his wife Teresa of Centerville, Iowa; Kurt and his wife Sandy of Story City, Iowa; and Kreg Bauer and his wife Brandy of Centerville, Iowa; daughter Kim Ferguson and her husband Leslie of Carlisle, Iowa; brother Garry Bauer of Bettendorf, Iowa; sister Judy Olson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Livingston Cemetery south of Numa, Iowa.
