Dennis Probasco's Obituary
Dennis Alan Probasco departed this life on April 27, 2021 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 25 days due to kidney failure. He had resided at the Pearl Valley Care Facility, Washington, Iowa for the past year.
He was born on August 2, 1950 on the family farm south of Moulton in southeastern Appanoose County, Iowa, the son of David Clayton (Bill) Probasco and Merna Laurel (Stevens) Probasco. Dennis was a younger brother to David, Jerry, Mary and Steve and an older brother to Bruce. In later years he was an uncle to nine, great-uncle to twenty-six and great-great uncle to eighteen and counting! Dennis attended school at Moulton-Udell. He worked alongside his brother Dave building fence and cutting wood in his younger days. Later, he worked for many years with New Focus. He enjoyed painting, listening to country music, especially Dolly Parton, watching movies and old TV shows as well as shopping for a bargain at local thrift stores. Dennis liked to tease and had a nickname for many in the family. Dennis attended church in the area, including Coatsville Baptist and Mt. Ararat where you might have heard him sing a special or two.
Dennis is survived by his siblings: Jerry and wife Frances Probasco, Steve and wife Pam Probasco, Mary Cook, and Bruce Probasco and special friend Lisa Yeatman; nieces and nephews Melanie (Probasco) and Eddie Guinn, John and Brenda Probasco, Jeff Probasco (Sandy Sarchet), Marci (Probasco) and Brad Nichols, Krystal (Probasco) Mosimann, Wendy (Probasco) and Scott Clark, Misty (Probasco) and Chris O'Hair, Haley Probasco and David Probasco; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, favorite cousin Robert Harcrow, many other cousins and extended family members. In death, Dennis joins his parents, one brother David Probasco and brother-in-law, Paul Cook. As Dennis goes on his final journey, he will be missed by all. Until we meet again!
A graveside service will be held at Hilltown Cemetery in Moulton on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be sent to the family and condolences can be shared at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
