Denise Phyllis Rummelhart's Obituary
Denise Phyllis Rummelhart, age 64, of Ottumwa, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
Denise was born on October 30, 1959 in Elmhurst, Illinois, the daughter of Philip and Barbara (Becker) Laux. She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1977. On May 9, 1987, Denise was united in marriage to David Joseph Rummelhart.
Denise worked in the manufacturing field for most of her adult life. In her free time, she enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds, camping, gardening, attending auctions and garage sales and she loved to fish. One of her favorite things in life was joking around and laughing.
Left to cherish Denise's memory are her husband, David Rummelhart; her children, Shawn (Laura) Berry, Nicole Rummelhart, and Roy Rummelhart; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her siblings, Richard (Mary) Laux, Dan (Penny) Laux, and Judy (Kim) Minard; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Barbara Laux; her son, Philip Berry; her daughter, Shana Berry; and her brother, Michael Laux.
Funeral services for Denise will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, March 8, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Fr. Timothy Armbruster, C.P.P.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Exline Cemetery in Exline. Visitation will take place Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00PM.
