Denise Johnson, 53 of Centerville passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Denise was born to Elvin & Betty (Tharp) Van Blaricon on December 5, 1958 in Centerville. She received her education from Centerville Schools graduating in 1977. Denise married Larry Johnson at the Open Bible Church in Centerville on March 21, 1998. She was employed by Centerville Schools for over 30 years. Denise enjoyed fishing, riding bikes, motorcycles, her dogs and time spent visiting with her friends and family. Denise is survived by her husband Larry Johnson of Centerville, two sisters; Vicky Stephens(Mike) of Centerville, Sheila Hawk - Foster(Rick) of Centerville, two brothers; Rick Van Blaricon(Sheila) of Centerville, Brian Van Blaricon of Jerome, 17 nieces and nephews; Lt. Colonel Michael Stephens Jr.(Major Coleen), Suzanne Hilyard(Don), Erin Lawson(Brian), Bradley Van Blaricon(Felicia), Kaysie McSweeney(Dennis), Justin Kratofil(Jeanette), Sunny Jo Dommer(Jason Raskie), George Jacob 'Jake' Kratofil, Joshua Kratofil(Danielle), Harold Levi Hawk, Tyler Foster(Jessica), Lucas Elvin Keith Van Blaricon, Tammy Johnson, Hiedi Johnson, Brian Johnson, Gib Johnson, Connor Scully and a brother-in-law George Johnson(Linda) of Centerville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Faith United Methodist Church - 23851 Hwy 5 - Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Larry Hudson officiating. Visitation will be all day Tuesday with the family present from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Jerome Cemetery.
