Delrein Junior Levis' Obituary
Delrein Levis, 90, of Promise City passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Corydon Specialty Care in Corydon. Delrein was born to Dwight & Ilo (Shriver) Levis on May 13, 1926 in Wayne County. He received his education from Allerton High School. Delrein was united in marriage to Gweniverre Levis, she later passed away in 1973. Delrein would marry again to Wilda Levis and she passed away in 2011. Delrein was a farmer. He and Gweniverre farmed near Weldon and Seymour and then moved to their current farm west of Promise City in 1951. He would farm the majority of his life until his health would no longer allow. Delrein enjoyed working on his farm; he also enjoyed doing carpentry work, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Drake of Corydon, sister-in-law, Doris Levis of Sewal, daughter-in-law, Linda Walney of Warren, Michigan, seven nieces and nephews, step-daughter, Trudy Burton of Gallatin, Missouri, step-grandchildren; Kim Cross (Harold) of Des Moines, Tony Gibson (Kim) of Corydon, seven step-great grandchildren, one step-great-great granddaughter, and a step-granddaughter in law, Julia Wideman. He was preceded in death by his wives, Gweniverre and Wilda, son, Dennis Levis, grandson, John Drake, four brothers; Raymond Levis (Imogene), Dale Levis (Hertha), Merle Levis (Ida), Howard Levis, niece, Ann Nielsen and a step grandson, Don Moore. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2016 at Allerton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 a.m., Wednesday at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon.
