Delmar L Stevens' Obituary
Delmar L. Stevens, age 87, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Delmar was born on August 19, 1935 in Belknap, Iowa, the son of Walter and Bertha (Hartly) Stevens. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Johnson on June 2, 2007 in Centerville, Iowa.
Delmar farmed his entire life with his father and his brother, Ralph. He loved his cattle and his farm. With the help of his brother, they owned Stevens Bros Feed and Seed for 30 years. In his free time, Delmar loved to go to the coffee shop, and talk about his farm with his fellow coffee goers.
Left to honor Delmar's memory are his step children, Jaimey (Geralyn) Shilling and Julie Shilling; step grandchildren, Jesse (Tess) McKinney, Joshua McKinney, Carly (Even) Marten, Christian (Deseree) Rodgers, Cameron Shilling, and Colton Shilling; step great-grandchildren, Isabella Rodgers and Emmitt Marten; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Delmar was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Stevens on July 4, 2018; his parents, Walter and Bertha Stevens; and his brother, Ralph Stevens.
Funeral services for Delmar will be held at 10AM, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will follow the service at Jones Cemetery, near Promise City, Iowa. Visitation will take place Friday, February 17, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM. Memorials in honor of Delmar, may be made to Jones Cemetery, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Stevens family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
