Delmar H. "Mike" Seibert's Obituary
Delmar H. 'Mike' Seibert, age 86, of Moulton, IA, died Monday, January 26, 2004, at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville, IA. He was born the son of Elmer C. and Mary A. (Hopkins) Seibert on August 10, 1917, in Moulton, IA. He attended Appanoose County Schools and Centerville Community Schools.Mike was united in marriage to Fleta L. Kirby on May 3, 1940, in Lancaster, MO. He worked as a Conductor for Wabash Railroad and later North Folk and Western Railroad from 1941 to 1976. He served his county during WWII in the Army Air Corp. for 22 months until his honorable discharge. He was a member of Moulton Baptist Church and a 50 year member of Burl McClure Post #280 of the American Legion in Moulton.Mike was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Martin Delmar Seibert; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Warrell and Ruth Shaw; 5 brothers, Howard, Elmer, Carl, Delbert and Wilford Seibert.Surviving family members are: wife, Fleta L. Seibert of Moulton, IA; 2 sons, Tony Seibert and his wife, Barbra of Moulton, IA and Phillip Seibert and his wife, Vickie of Altoona, IA; daughter, Sherry Lamb and her husband, Wayne of Bloomfield, IA; 2 sisters, Hazel Silby of SanDiego, CA and Carol Shaw of Downing, MO; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2004, at 10:30 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Doug Goodson of the Moulton Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery near Moulton with full Military Honors conducted by the Burl McClure Post #280 American Legion of Moulton.Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 29, 2004, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton.
