Della Walag's Obituary
Della Walag, 69 of Corydon, passed away on February 5, 2021 at her home in Corydon, Iowa. Della Mae was born to William Coleman and Anna Elizabeth (Burch) Christian on March 21, 1951 in Wellsville, Missouri. She married John Walag and together they had a son, Scott. Della worked as a supervisor in housekeeping at Centerville Nursing and Rehab until her retirement. She enjoyed time spent crocheting, her favorite pastime. Della was an avid fan of Diet Pepsi and liked to go to casinos, especially when it involved trips to Las Vegas with friends. Della adored her family. Her grandkids were the light of her life and she especially delighted in spending precious moments with her granddaughter Samantha. Left to cherish Della's memory is her son Scott Walag (Tina), her grandchildren Brice Powers, Brianna Powers and Samantha Walag, her sister Martha Kay McCormick and numerous extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her grandson Reece Walag. Funeral service for Della will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 11 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 10 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. with family present, and then will remain an open visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with no family present.
