Debra Lynn Collins-Raskie, age 59, of Chariton, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born August 30, 1955 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Mike and Carol (Katich-Simmons) Raskie. Debra graduated from Centerville High School. She continued her education at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville for one year.
Debra worked numerous jobs throughout her adult life. She was employed with Wells Manufacturing in Centerville for twelve years. Most recently, she worked at Casey's General Store in Chariton.
She loved traveling in her free time, especially trips to Minnesota to see her sister, Cheri. Debra also enjoyed traveling to Ireland. She also liked going shopping with her sisters, and loved spending time with her brother as well. Most importantly, Debra cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She loved watching them participate in their sporting events.
Debra is survived by her mother, Carol Simmons of Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Angela Raskie of Chariton, Iowa and Delaney (Jared) Carol Abbott-Engle of Centerville, Iowa; four grandchildren, Dalton Roberts, Damien Abbott, Jaismine Engle and Jordan Engle; four siblings, Cheri (Joe) Graff of Minnesota, Linda (Hamed) Aziz of Centerville, Iowa, Tim Raskie of Albia, Iowa and Stephanie (Fred) Trujillo of Des Moines, Iowa. She will also be missed by many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 3-5 PM. A memorial has been established to the family and may be sent to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
