Dave was born on April 30, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Everett and Lucille (Gardner) Tripp. He graduated from high school in Algona, Iowa before serving in the United States Navy from 1967-1973. Dave enjoyed fishing, traveling (especially cruising), remodeling homes and working on various house projects. He also enjoyed pushing buttons at the casinos, BBQs and get-togethers with his family and friends and taking long naps. He was an avid coffee drinker who could often be found dunking just about anything in his cup of Joe! He was known as the "Neighborhood Dad" who had an open-door policy in order to ensure everyone was taken care of; whether it be for a good meal, advice or just a good conversation. Dave is survived by his former wife, Pam Van Fosson; children: Dennis (Carla) Tripp, Denise (Shane) Morgan, Sandra Tripp (Amber) and Carrie (Jared) Seddon; grandchildren: Mackenzie and Delaney Tripp, Jesse Johnson, Schyler (Megan), Justin, Josh and Seth Morgan, Makayla Tripp, Lakin and Evan Barber and Hunter and Zack Seddon; great grandchild, Haylee Johnson and close family relative and "son," Kyle Grave as well as his brothers: William, Leonard and Marv Tripp. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Henrietta Tripp; son, Benjamin Tripp; sister, Judy Preuschl and great granddaughter, Paisley Morgan.
