David Sloan's Obituary
David Sloan, 60, of Chariton passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at his home in Chariton. David was born in San Diego, California on October 10, 1955 to Joe & Joan (Bartlett) Sloan. He received his education from Wayne Community High School graduating in 1973. In 1982, David was united in marriage to Marsha Lee Myers and gained a son; Riley Meyers. To their union, David and Marsha had a daughter Amy Lee Sloan. David worked at Conoco in Corydon through high school. After high school, he began a career in construction and became a concrete finisher. David was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He mostly enjoyed his time with his daughter Amy and grandson Wesley. Survivors include his daughter Amy Tibai and grandson Wesley of Lee's Summit, Missouri, mother, Joan Sloan of Corydon, father, Joe Sloan (Lori) of Warrensburg, Missouri, sister, Linda Rockhold (Lynn) of Corydon, brother, Dennis Sloan (Edit) of Des Moines, sister, Lisa Hysell (Ron) of Seymour, sister, Laura McMurry of Chariton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at New York Cemetery near Millerton. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
