David Oehler's Obituary
David Charles Oehler, age 69 of Moravia, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, after a lengthy illness.
David was born in Centerville, Iowa on January 23, 1947 to Jay and Mary (Poljak) Oehler.
He attended Moravia schools, graduating high school with the Class of 1965. David attended Centerville Community College (Indian Hills Community College) and later, Kirksville State University (Truman State University) where he graduated with a bachelor's degree.
After graduation, he worked for a brief period in San Diego, California at Firestone, before returning home to help with the Oehler Brothers Oil Company until the station closed in 2005.
David loved music, reading, cars, and most importantly, spending time with friends and family. He loved walking around town and visiting with neighbors.
He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Centerville.
David is survived by a brother, Ed Oehler of Moravia; and special friend, Lynne Warrick.
Private graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to either the Moravia First Responders or to the Moravia Public Library and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
