David 'Burt' Burton, 51 of Centerville passed away Friday, June 25, 2010. Burt was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 3, 1959 to Gerald and Willa(Lloyd) Burton. He received his education from Bonner Springs High School in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Burt married Ginger Moore on May 1, 1999 in Ventura, California. Burt was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed weight lifting, jiu jitsu, training and teaching jiu jitsu, outdoor activities, time spent with his family and friends and his dog Zeek. Burt was also very proud of his Lumbee Indian Heritage. Burt is survived by his wife Ginger Burton of Centerville, two children; Tiago and Tarzana of Centerville, parents, two brothers, Gary Burton of Overland Park, KS, Brett Burton of Leavenworth, KS, two sisters, Kristi Burton-Cox of Kansas City, KS, Kelly Burton-Anderson of Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold & Ora Burton and Ed & Zetta Lloyd. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will be all day Monday at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m..
