David Ray Johnson's Obituary
David Ray Johnson, age 72, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at his home.
Dave was born on August 16, 1949 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond Robert and Pearl May (Retallick) Johnson. Following high school graduation, he furthered his education, going to culinary school and obtaining his Associates degree. On June 20, 1970, he was united in marriage to Carol Clark, and this union, two children were born, Dawn and Robert.
While in Cassville, Wisconsin, Dave worked at Dairyland Power Plant for several years. He also worked as an Insurance Agent for Fritz Insurance in Cassville. In his later years, Dave was self employed as a logger until his retirement.
Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating down the Mississippi River, and playing cards, especially Euchre. He shared a love of cooking with his daughter, Dawn, and was fond of logging with his son, Robert.
Left to honor Daves memory are his loving wife of almost 52 years, Carol Johnson; his children, Dawn (Mike) Retallick and Robert (Angie) Johnson; grandchildren, Danielle (Russell) Hubby, Alex Retallick, Robert Johnson Jr., Mildred Johnson, Matthew Johnson, and Madeline Johnson; a great grandchild, Eli Colton; a sister, Kathy (David) Fecht; as well as several nieces, nephews, and several extended family members.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pearl Johnson; a great grandson, Liam Michael Johnson; and a brother, Paul Cox.
Per Daves wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life visitation will take place Monday, February 28, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 3-5PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorials have been established to the Warren Masonic Lodge, #4, Potosi, WI, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, ATTN: Johnson family, 1900 South 18th Street Centerville, Iowa 52544.
