David Walter Hook's Obituary
David Hook, 69 of Corydon, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his home in Corydon.
David Walter Hook was born on November 5, 1952 to Duane Lee Hook and Phyliss Mae (Meyer) Hook in Radisson, Wisconsin. He graduated from Corydon High School with the class of 1970 and went on to get his Associate's Degree from DMACC. He married Becky Little on March 5, 1980, and to this union, five children were born: Michelle, Lonnie, Shannon, Chrystal, and Bridget.
David enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He worked as a diesel mechanic in Kansas City, Missouri for five years before working for the City of Corydon for 34 years, and was a driver for local Amish families. David was known for his pets, having a pet squirrel and a pet goose. He loved his animals, but would never admit it to anyone. David was a jack-of-all-trades, enjoyed working odd jobs, and would help anyone who needed it.
David is survived by his wife, Becky Hook, children, Michelle DeVore-Price (James), Lonnie Hook (Kim), Shannon Davis (Matt), Chrystal Clark (Jacob), and Bridget Lewis (Jayson), grandchildren, Samantha Johnson (Josh), Savanah Sandy (Ben), Sidney Davis, Shaye Davis, Alliyah White (Trevor), Boudyn White, Gatlyn Clark, Deona Hook (Colton), Jayson Lewis Jr., Jaxson Lewis, and four great-grandchildren, brothers, Donald Hook (Regina) and Darrin Hook (Jill), sisters, Deanna Luedtke, Dea Dent (Gene), Dixie Benner (Steve), Darcy Johnson, Danette West (Dan), DaNiel Penfield (Tom), and Donna Rinehart (Mike), and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyliss Froelich (Aldof), father, Duane Hook, brother, Danny Hook, sister, Deidre Sotter, brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Dottie Hook, grandma, Gertrude Robertson, grandpa, Walter Meyers, and brother-in-law, Norman Johnson.
A memorial service for David has been planned for 12:00 noon on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will directly follow the service at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the memorial service, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
