David Henry Hesse's Obituary
David Henry Hesse, 77 of Seymour passed away, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon.
David was born to Joseph & Jewel (Sullians) Hesse on March 22, 1946 in Clarion, Arkansas. David attended school and later joined the United States Army and would eventually retire from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent.
David was united in marriage on April 5, 1967 to Linda Wray. To this union, five children were born: Richard, Denise, Allen, Diana and Holly.
David spent over 25 years serving his country between the Army and Air Force. After earning his full retirement, he would take a job driving a truck for Manatt's Company. David enjoyed fishing, camping and shooting guns. He also loved playing cards, telling hilarious jokes, teasing and time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. David loved Casey's coffee and donuts and his dogs. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hesse, children: Richard Hesse, Denise Henrikus (Dale), Allen Hesse (Lisa), Dianna Hansen (Steve), Holly Hesse, daughter-in-law, Melia Hesse, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 48 foster kids, a sister; Betty Reves and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Joe, Mary Elizabeth, Virgil, Aubrey, Pete, twin infant brothers and his in-laws, Gene and Angie Wray.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Brushy Cemetery. Visitation will be all day Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
