David Lee Edwards' Obituary
David Lee Edwards, age 84, of Moulton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Centerville Specialty Care in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Otis and Elsie (Burgess) Edwards on March 5, 1931 in Moulton, Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton High School in 1949 and he was able to achieve his Eagle Scout .Dave served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from February 1952 until his honorable discharge in January of 1954. He was united in marriage to Patricia Tipton in Moulton on March 30, 1956. Dave was a Barber in Bloomfield and Centerville, Iowa before opening his own shop in Moulton which he owned for over 43 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing which lead to him being a Taxidermist. He also enjoyed collecting coins and was a rock hound. He was a member of the American Legion in Moulton and the Moulton United Methodist Church.He is preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, William Edwards, Ronald Edwards, Calvin 'Bud' Edwards, Theodore Edwards, Paul Edwards and Phillip Edwards; sisters, Daphne Keller and Jeanne Blazer. David is survived by: his wife, Patricia Edwards of Moulton, Iowa; a son, Perry Edwards and wife Lisa of Centerville, Iowa; a daughter, Celina Dyer and husband Paul of Ottumwa, Iowa; three grandchildren and one great grandson; four step-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Bentzinger of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 and also the family will be present from 12 pm until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home..
