David Carter's Obituary
David Carter, 81 of Centerville passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at his home. David was born on December 27, 1937 in Oxford, Nebraska to Ora & Maureen (David) Carter. He received his education from Holdrege High School, graduating in 1956. David continued his education at the University of Nebraska, graduating with an Education Degree. He then served three years in the Nebraska Air National Guard. After serving, David was employed by Moravia Schools as a vocational agriculture teacher for many years. He would later become a co-founder of Carter-Miller Sanitation. David enjoyed: traveling, cats, coin collecting, stamp collecting, telling stories and belonging to the 1880 Club. David was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Moravia but in recent years joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ramona; niece, Karla Carter; sister-in-law, Pat Carter; stepchildren: Raymond Walker (Hope), Robin Fielweber (Scott), Ryan Walker and Lisa Western (Tom); nine step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; step daughter-in-law, Tammi Walker and a brother, Dale Carter. Funeral service will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be private.
