David Baker's Obituary
David Baker, age 43, of Centerville, Iowa died at home Monday, January 2, 2006.
David was born July 5, 1962, the son of Bill and Carolyn Baker in Centerville, Iowa. David attended Centerville High School and graduated with the class of 1980. He began his working career in the construction field with Elliott Electric. David then took a job with Country Village Lumber Co. He would later manage a janitorial service where he cleaned several business establishments throughout the community. David was a working supervisor for Piedmont Metals for twelve years. He spent the last several years owning & managing the Chariton Valley Redemption Center.
David leaves to honor his memory his parents Carolyn and Bill Baker; a daughter, Alisha Baker of Centerville, Iowa; three brothers, Dennis Baker of Centerville, Paul and his wife Lisa Baker of Centerville, Michael Baker of Olathe, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his grandparents Kermit and Cleta Baker and Earl and Frieda Hopkins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Geneva Parsons officiating. Pallbearers will be Travis Ashby, Jeff Kaster, Tim Kaster, Mark Hopkins, Russ Foster and Doug Hopkins. Honorary casket bearers will be Rodney Kaster and Dennis Taylor. Rodger Kaster will be singing ""Old Rugged Cross"" and ""Amazing Grace"", accompanied by Shelly Burgher. Burial will follow at the Hanes Cemetery. Friends may call all day Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the Boy Scouts Troop # 33 and may be mailed to or left at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St. Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
