Dave Kraber's Obituary
David Dean Kraber, age 59, of Moravia passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home.
Dave was born on March 13, 1963 in Albia, Iowa, the son of Emil Kraber Jr. and Linda Louise (Pottorff) Kraber. He graduated from Twin Cedars High School with the Class of 1983. On June 26, 2021, Dave was united in marriage to Brenda Lee Ritter.
Following high school, Dave began working for Cablevey Conveyors in Oskaloosa, driving a truck. He then worked at Vermeer in Pella for a period of time before Dave took a position for Moravia Community Schools as a custodian in 2002.
Dave was known in the Moravia community as a selfless man, who always loved helping others in need. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, going to the Demolition Derby, the Redneck Rally races and spending time with his family.
Left to honor Daves memory are his mother, Linda Kraber of Eddyville; his wife, Brenda Kraber of Moravia; his daughters, Trisha (Jason) Albertson of Moravia, Heather Kraber of Moravia, and Tonya (Jonathan) Bedell of Albia; two stepsons, Billie (Teresa) Hopkins of Blakesburg, and Bruce (Cassie) Hopkins of Ottumwa; three grandchildren, Melannie Kraber, Joslynn Albertson, and Cheyenne Wales; nine step grandchildren, Brayden Hopkins, Jesalynn Hopkins, Jackson Hopkins, Kenzlee Hopkins, Rebecca (Jared) Roberts, Chrystal Albertson (Weldon White), Marshall Albertson, Kjirsten Albertson and Lincoln Albertson; his siblings, Janet (Rodney) Keyes of Eddyville, Iowa, Pam (Hollice) Clark of Bourbonnais, Illinois, and Terry Kraber of Bussey, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a whole community that loved him dearly.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Emil Kraber Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Monday, September 19, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with Pastor Dennis Doud officiating. Visitation will take place Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, beginning at 12:00PM, with the family greeting friends from 3:00-6:00PM. Cremation will follow the services.
