Daryl Tisue's Obituary
Daryl Tisue, age 56 of Moravia, Iowa died, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Ronald and Charlotte (Scott) Tisue on December 4, 1953 in Centerville, Iowa. Daryl graduated from Moravia High School in 1972 and furthered his education for one year at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa.In 1991 Daryl and Karen - Sleep - Drake started their journey together. They were later united in marriage in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was a 'Jack of all trades, and a master of many'. He farmed west of Moravia, Iowa, sold construction equipment and was a Real Estate agent for Action Realty in Centerville. He was also co-owner of The Hall Tree where he was a clothing buyer along side his wife, Karen. They always came back from their travels with numerous stories about interesting people they had met or business dealings. Daryl served on the Moravia School Board, was an Appanoose County Supervisor, and on the Iowa Real Estate Association Board. He was a member of the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa. Many people thought of Daryl as a walking book of knowledge; the kids would argue over who got Daryl on their team when they played trivial pursuit. His favorite past time was having his morning coffee and breakfast with the guys and gals at Angels in Moravia and listening to Fox News. He was more than a husband and business partner - he was a best friend. Daryl was a big hearted person who is loved and will be greatly missed.He is preceded in death by: his maternal and paternal grandparents.Daryl is survived by: his wife, Karen Tisue of Moravia, Iowa; a daughter, Tifini and her husband, Scott Foglesong of Davenport, Iowa; his parents, Ronald and Charlotte Tisue of Moravia, Iowa; step son, Todd and his wife, Kristi Drake of Nodaway, Iowa; step daughter, Brenda and her husband, Rob Ferris of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother, Lanny Tisue of Moravia, Iowa and a sister Janet Acheson of Mystic, Iowa; grandchildren, Carson and Colton Foglesong; and step grandchildren, Colten and Trenton Drake, Paige, Carter and Kaitlyn Ferris.Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, Iowa with Revs. Brian Hargrove and Jerry Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery west of Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 from 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm with the family present from 6:00 till 8:00 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
