Darrell Dean Keeney's Obituary
Darrell Dean Keeney, age 72, of Cincinnati, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville under EveryStep Hospice.
Darrell was born on November 6, 1951 in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Lola (Phipps) Keeney. He went to school in Reseda, California, and graduated from Reseda High School. On April 14, 1973, Darrell was united in marriage to Jody Strong. To this union, two children were born, Shalene and Amber.
Darrell worked for HR Textron in California for 31 years as an aircraft mechanic. In 2009, the couple moved to Cincinnati, Iowa. He then worked at Kum and Go for a period of time.
In his free time, Darrell enjoyed fishing, watching tv-especially sports, camping and spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.Left to honor Darrell's memory are his wife of over 51 years, Jody Keeney; his children, Shalene (Lindy) Ellis and Amber (Andrew) Dixon; his grandchildren, Alex, Alysia, Andy, Lexi, Kaylene, Angelina, Jordyn, and Sophia; five great-grandchildren, Trenton, Ryder, Avianna, Tyson, and Leo; his sister, Patti (Dan) Cantrell; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Lola Keeney; his brother, Edward Keeney; and his sister, Kathy Major.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. Memorial services for Darrell are pending at this time. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati.
