Danny "Boone" Swarts' Obituary
Danny 'Boone' Swarts, age 63, of Moulton, Iowa, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Home in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born the son of Fredrick R. and Geneva I. (Archer) Swarts on January 6, 1949 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Moulton Community School in 1967.Boone served his country during the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Marines. He was united in marriage to Linda Leonard; to this union 3 children were born. He worked for the Northfolk & Southern Railroad for over 20 years and at his retirement he was a Foreman for a section crew. He was a member of the American Legion Post #280 in Moulton, Iowa.Boone was preceded in death by; his parents; his brother, Allen Swarts; and a niece, Holly Swarts.He is survived by: his sons, Travis Swarts of Bloomfield, Iowa and Joey Swarts and his wife, Alissa of Johnston, Iowa; a daughter, Lisa Swarts and her husband, Jeramy Morrison of Moulton, Iowa; grandchildren, Skyler Morrison of Moulton, Iowa and Bostyn Swarts of Johnston, Iowa; brothers, Rick and his wife, Tami Swarts of Moulton, Iowa and Mike Swarts of Centerville, Iowa; a sister, Lanna Pike of Davenport, Iowa. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Brian Gentz officiating. Burial of ashes with full military honors will be at the Oakland Cemetery west of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 9 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial can be made to the family and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
