Daniel Wayne Stroud's Obituary
Daniel Wayne Stroud, 61 of Centerville, IA passed away December 30, 2022 at MercyOne Centerville surrounded by his family.
Danny was born July 3rd, 1961 to Norma (Laurson) & Jack Stroud Sr. He attended Centerville Schools. After high school, Danny traveled installing phone lines. During this time, he was united in marriage to Jodi Sindt. They were later separated. In the 1980's he married Tammy Hogg. To this marriage two daughters were born, Tammy (Tisha) Stroud & Danielle Stroud/Wireman. After their separation, Danny was united in marriage to Colleen Engle in February of 1990. To this marriage two more daughters, Heather and Julie were born.
Danny spent time working for the railroad and various tree companies before becoming disabled. He was skilled in many trades from carpentry, welding, wood working & leather working.
If you knew "Loud Proud Danny Stroud", you know he lived life on the wild side. He loved to be the life of the party.
Danny always managed to keep you on your toes! He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was known for catching flatheads and making the best jerky around. Danny loved to play pool and could clear the table. He spent many nights camping with family and friends, he loved a good bon fire.
Danny is survived by his best bud Joker; his parents, Norma and Jack Stroud Sr.; daughters, Tisha Stroud, Heather Stroud and Julie (Michael) Clayworth; his grandchildren, Michael Morgan, Dominic Morgan, Braxton Morgan, Mia Barwick, Danielle Terrell, Tessa Schuster and Kade Clayworth; his brother Jack Stroud Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Stroud/Wireman; his maternal grandparents, Carl & Marie Laurson; and his paternal grandparents, Faye & Homer Stroud.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM with a time to share stories of Danny at 6PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa.
