Daniel Jones' Obituary
Daniel Lee Jones, 74, of Plano, passed away on August 15, 2018 at Wayne County Hospital. Dan was born on March 30, 1944 in Centerville to Daniel and Bertrice (Bateman) Jones. Dan graduated from Seymour High School in 1962 and then attended Centerville Community College until 1964. Dan joined the United States Army and after discharge worked as a telecommunications technician for several years. On November 16, 1990, he married Nancy Strasser in Boulder, Colorado. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed white water rafting, bike riding and traveling to Cozumel, Mexico. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved his home. Dan is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Scott (Carol) Jones; daughter, Meghan Jones; grandchildren: Molly and Dylan; stepson, Gary Alness; step grandchildren: Raven Mays and Rachell Jones as well as Rachell's adopted parents: Billy and Bobbie Jones; sister, Diana (Bob) Linhardt; nephews: Chris and Craig Linhardt and their families; "the best dog in the world," Sadie Mae and a herd of cats. Dan is also survived by good friends, John and Ev Wright who did so much for him and Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Paul Alness. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Seymour. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
