Daniel ""Danny"" Crisp's Obituary
Daniel ""Danny"" Edward Crisp, age 28 of Seymour, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Danny was born March 10, 1987 in Carmichael, California, the son of Matthew ""Marty"" and Lisa (Hackney) Crisp. Danny graduated from Moravia High School in Moravia, Iowa with class of 2005.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. Moreover, Danny cherished the friendship he developed with his childhood best friends, Billy Mattly, Tim Simpson, Adam, Elena and Alex Alvarez, and Josh Ewing. Danny was simply a ""fun loving nerd,"" fascinated by the little things in life. Danny had many hobbies, including playing video games and Japanese Anime Cartoons. Yet, he had one true passion in life. His love for playing the guitar represented his true identity. Remarkably, Danny was a self-taught guitarist, learning through both Guitar Hero and You Tube instruction. He enjoyed playing for family and friends and had produced several videos exhibiting his true talent with the guitar.
He is survived by his parents, Matthew ""Marty"" and Lisa Crisp of Seymour, Iowa; four siblings, Dustin Matthew (Danyale) Crisp of Sacramento, California, Mindie Michelle (Eddy) Crisp of Rancho Cordova, California, Summer Leanne (Chad) Cox of Allerton, Iowa and Lisa ""Denise"" (Steven) McClain of Seymour, Iowa; grandmothers, Arlene Hackney of Fair Oaks, California and Barbara Vorhees of Centerville, Iowa; fourteen nieces and nephews, Maddison Bolding, Lucas Crisp, Damien Crisp, Ayden Crisp, Antonio Basaldua, Reinaldo Castro, Yessica Castro, Lewis Castro, Mackinze Cox, Shianne Cox, Cody Cox, Camilla McClain, Kyler McClain and Klayten McClain; and three uncles, Mike Hackney of Fair Oaks, California, Duane Hackney of San Diego, California and David ""Mike"" (Jodi) Tallent of Cincinnati, Iowa.
Danny was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ted Hackney and Vernon Crisp; and an aunt, Sabra Crisp Hurst.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Reverend John Van Weelden officiating. Interment will follow in the Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Lange Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM.
