Daniel 'Boon' Bills' Obituary
Daniel Ray "Boon" Bills, age 64, of Mystic passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his home.
Boon was born on November 5, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Edward "Nip" and Shirley (Seals) Bills. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and later served in the National Guard. After 17 faithful years, Boon was honorably discharged. On May 21, 1983, he was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Beaty at the Dedication Site at Lake Rathbun. To this union, three children were born, Forrest, Michael and Megan.
Boon was employed with KLK Construction for a period of time before he accepted a job at Curwood/Bemis, where he worked for 14 years. He had an auction company called Mystic Auction Service, which he ran for 15 years. Boon also operated Nips Tavern in Mystic for many years.
Boon loved Facebook, fishing, riding motorcycles, karate, bonfires and socializing with family and friends. He absolutely adored his grandchildren.
Left to honor Boons memory are his wife, Becky Bills of Mystic; his children, Forrest (Jamie) Bills of Mystic, Michael (Sasha) Bills of Mystic, and Megan Bills (Matt Pfannebecker) of Centerville; siblings, Mark Bills of Centerville and Walter Bills of Mystic; sisters-in-law, Connie Bills of Centerville, Rhonda Whitcomb of Mystic, Mona (Donnie) Barbaglia of Mystic, Raelynn (Doug) Robinson of Moravia; a brother-in-law, Mike (Kim) Beaty of Moravia; fifteen grandchildren, Tathan Bills, Casey McDanel, Hunter Garber, Landon Ruckman, Logan Ruckman, Lane Weilbrenner, MaKenna McGrann, Brody McGrann, Emmy Bills, Tenley Ruckman, Presley Dickerson, Grace Gadberry, Addilynn Breese, Kaileb Pfannebecker and Kolton Boon Pfannebecker; as well as several family members and friends.
Boon was preceded in death by his parents, Nip and Shirley Bills; a brother, Sam Bills; brother-in-law, Tim Whitcomb; and his in-laws, Dean and Frances Beaty.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Holly Oden officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Mystic.
