Dana Fletcher's Obituary
Dana M. Fletcher, age 55, of Unionville, Iowa, formerly of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at her home.
Dana was born on September 10, 1969 in Oklahoma, the daughter of James Covey and Anna Hobbs. She was united in marriage to Michael Fletcher on April 5, 2025 at the Second Baptist Church at the Northeast Missouri Old Thrasher's.
Dana worked at Tenco for 16 years. On December 26, 2024, she retired from Tenco, and moved to Unionville where Michael lived. The couple spent years enjoying traveling, going to the beach-even though she only went to one, and going to Old Thrasher's events.
Dana had a heart of gold. It showed by her family size. Dana didn't have friends-she had family. Her friends became her family very quickly. She was a very selfless person, who tried to always do good unto others. On one of the trips that her and Michael took, she even dumped her purse out to look for money for a homeless person to be sure they had enough to eat that day. She loved walking through the homeless encampments and seeing all of their wall art as well, even taking photos of some of her favorites. Taking photos for Dana was a moment of tranquility for her. She has hundreds and thousands of photos! Although photography was a great passion of hers, she was devout in her bible studies, especially since she moved to Unionville. She was very humble in her faith. Most importantly, she cherished every moment she spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was even able to go to a couple of the grandkid's games recently, which brought her tremendous joy.
Left to cherish Dana's memory are her husband, Michael Fletcher; her father, James Covey; her children, Andrew (Kileigh) Lane, Ethan (Rachel) Hendrickson, and Kendra Ramsey; her step children, Heidi (John) Fry, and Nate (Auddie) Fletcher; her grandson, Kingston Ramsey; her step grandchildren, Jakxyn Fry, Alycen Fry, Coralee Fry, Laityn Fry, Bella Fletcher, Bentley Fletcher and Riggin Fletcher; her siblings, Alyssa Covey and Darin Covey; as well as several extended family members and close friends.
Dana was preceded in death by her mother; her step-father, Jim; and her grandparents.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Fairview Church in Moravia (where the Depot is). Memorials have been established to the Northeast Missouri Old Thrashers, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Fletcher Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
