Dana J. Albers' Obituary
Dana was born in Kirksville Missouri on March 24, 1943, to Orel and Alice Kaster(both deceased) of Moravia Iowa. She died in Mercy Hospital Iowa City October 4, 2008, due to Diabetes, and Heart Disease. Dana was a devoted wife to Monte Albers and lived in Moravia and in West Liberty, Iowa, and Monte survives. She is also survived by her sons Andy(Angie) and Ben(Kathy)Albers, also two step-granddaughters. Also her sister Frances Benell and brother Joe Kaster , brother and sister-in-laws Beth Laws, Ann, Jack and Judd Albers and many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Moravia Community Schools, and was active in band and a good athlete. She was a Iowa Hawkeye supporter, Chicago Cubs fan, a New York Giants fan and followed the Moravia high school teams faithfully. She knew facts and figures of all the professional teams and college teams. She worked several years at Spencer's Grocery and jointly owned the Dairy Sweet with Paul Benell, her deceased brother-in-law. Dana learned to sew and cook at an early age, and loved to make doll clothes for her nieces and also for Moravia craft businesses. She learned to use several saws to make attractive wood crafts to complement Monte's skills. She was able to be in Moravia for the Fall Festival this year, and see many of her friends and relatives. Her classmates were very special to her as they have been close friends all through the years. The family will be at the Moravia Funeral Chapel Wednesday October 8, 2008 from 4 pm to 8 pm for Visitation and services Thursday October 9, 2008 at 10:30 am.
