Dan David Ray, Jr.'s Obituary
Dan David Ray Jr., age 73 of Moulton, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at his home.
Dan was born on September 5, 1951 in Mendota, Missouri, the son of Dan David Ray Sr. and Dorothy M. (Hudson) Ray. Following high school graduation, he was a mechanic. On March 27, 1970, Dan joined the United States Army and was a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic until he was transferred to the United States Army Reserves, where he was honorably discharged. On July 24, 1992, Dan was united in marriage to Candice Louise Opperman.
Dan was an over-the-road truck driver for Stingray Trucking. In his free time, he enjoyed Sunday morning safety meetings as well as eating breakfast and drinking coffee with his friends. He loved spending time and doing things with his wife and his dog, Willow Jean. He was also fond of deer hunting off of his front porch.
Left to honor Dan's memory are his wife of over 32 years, Candy Ray; his children, Chad Ray, Tierney (Steve) Harris, Cody (Jesslyn) Ray, Travis (Solana) Foglesong, and Brandy Foglesong; eleven grandchildren; four siblings, Denny (Pat) Ray, Paul (Kim) Hiatt, Brenda Hiatt, and Carolyn Todey; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Ray Sr. and Dorothy Schakel; his step father, Leonard Schakel; and his son, Lance Ray.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
