Crista Lucille Taylor's Obituary
Crista Lucille Taylor, age 95, of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Lawrence Leonard and Mabel (Johnson) Landtiser on December 26, 1916 near Livonia, Missouri. She graduated from the Lancaster High School in 1934. After taking Teacher's Training, she taught two terms at the Kelley School in Schuyler County in Missouri.On May 27, 1936, Crista was united in marriage to Ervin Loren Taylor. They were married for over 65 years, living on a farm near Livonia, Missouri. She would help with all the farm work by raising chickens, milking cows and driving the tractor. She so enjoyed teaching piano lessons and raising puppies. She was a member of the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church where she played the piano, taught Bible School and held many offices. Later, after moving to Moulton, Iowa in 2001, she would attend the Moulton United Methodist Church and Orleans Church north of Moulton. She enjoyed working at the Crosslines Center and being a Correspondent for the Iowegian from 1972 until 2008.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ervin Taylor on May 22, 2001; sons, Bobby Lee Taylor on December 7, 2003 and Jerry Taylor on April 24, 2009; a granddaughter, Carla Taylor.Crista is survived by: her daughter-in-laws, Theresa Taylor of Moulton, Iowa and Linda Taylor of Stockton, Missouri; Five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; brother, Charles Landtiser of Kirksville, Missouri; sisters, Juanita Lonis of Glenwood, Missouri and Marilyn Abbott of Lancaster, Missouri.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John's Cemetery near Livonia, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
